Project Overview:

Increasingly, the business rules that determine when and how a transaction will take place and be recorded on a blockchain are encoded into computer code known as “smart contracts” and executed automatically on the blockchain. This allows different types of transactions to take place autonomously, sometimes without any human intervention at all. This project explores the kinds of risks that are materializing in smart contract development and deployment with a view to developing principles and practices for secure smart contract design and development.  The project looks at smart contract risks through a socio-technical and systems theoretic lens.
